Metropolitanareasthatconcentratejobsinactivitycentersaremoreproductive.Ouranalysisrevealedaclearandpositiverelationshipbetweenactivitycenterjobdensityandproductivity,asmeasuredbygrossmetropolitanproduct(GMP)perworker.Every1,000jobspersquaremileinametroarea'smedianactivitycenterwasassociatedwithanadditional$11723inoutputperworkeracrossthemetroarea.
